In the case of history being made, the oldest man in the United States has finally decided to leave the world. The man, Richard Overton, died on Thursday, December 27 th at the age of 112. Overton was also America's oldest World War II veteran. Overton volunteered for the Army starting in 1942 and served with the 188th Aviation Engineer Battalion, an all-black unit that served on various islands in the Pacific. Overton would have been 113 on May 11, 2019 but the veteran came down with pneumonia and it was the reason for his demise.

Maybe due to stress or due to an underlying medical issue, we are not yet sure, but a dancer reportedly had a seizure and collapsed on stage during a stage performance. The dancer was part of Iggy Azalea's troupe and they were performing at a concert in Brazil. The shocking incident occurred on Thursday, December 27 during Iggy's performance at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The backup dancer was seen to have fallen down in the middle of a performance and started shaking uncontrollably. The dancers had to stop and call for help. When the medics arrived, they drove an ambulance onstage to take the woman away. Then Iggy continued singing again.

Dorcas Kasinde, who was Miss Congo at the just concluded Miss Africa 2018, and winner of the beauty pageant, had her wig burst into flames shortly after she was declared winner of the event. As the 24-year-old celebrated her victory and hugged her predecessor, her wig started burning with a fire that came from an unidentified source, though may believed it was from the stage lights. In a swift rescue, the organizers put out the fire before it had any chance to do any damages.

In a very bizarre occurrence, a man who was hired to entertain children has been found to have buried his two kids in his backyard. The man, Elwyn Crocker Sr. was found to have buried the bodies of his two children in his garden patch. The 50-year-old was arrested and charged with the deaths of the children after sheriff's deputies went to his house in Guyton, Georgia, to conduct a welfare check on his 14-year-old daughter, Mary Crocker. Effingham County Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie said his office received a 911 tip from a caller that Mary Crocker hadn't been seen since October and that the tipster feared she was dead. The police acted on the tip and visited the said man but did not find the children. After questioning, the man admitted to have buried the children in his back garden, and he took the deputies to the area. Elwyn Crocker Jr. apparently disappeared in November 2016, when he was 14, police said, and the accused never reported any of them missing.

A photo has been circulating online of a man whose hand has been chopped off and the stump was bleeding profusely. The said man was involved in a fight with his brother and in the fracas, his brother chopped off his wrist with a short knife. The disagreement between the duo started on Christmas day, but the reason for the disagreement was yet unknown as at the time of the report.

In an odd but funny development, 24 Ebola patients have escaped from their treatment center in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The patients had to abscond when the treatment center came under attack from people protesting the cancellation of Sunday’s presidential election in the eastern city. The escape of the patients raised concerns over the further spread of the disease and they raced to trace anyone that has had any encounter with the patients. Ministry spokeswoman Jessica Ilunga told Reuters that 17 of the patients had already tested negative for Ebola, while seven had not yet been tested. Ilunga said that three patients had already returned to the center while health workers were in contact with 17 others to coordinate their return.

The sleeping town of Eastern Sicily in Italy was jolted by an earthquake the magnitude of 4.8, and the quake injured over 10 people, prompting frightened Italian villagers to flee their homes. The quake hit home at 3:19 a.m. and it was said to have been part of a swarm of about 1,000 tremors that came off an active volcano in Italy’s Mount Etna. The volcano was said to have erupted earlier this week.

Police in Norway said a car thief called them for rescue after he was stuck in a car he tried to steal and could not get out. The teenager car thief who was a teenager called police just before 8 a.m. Monday and told officers he was trapped inside a car he had attempted to steal from a Volvo dealership. Ebbe Kimo of the Trondelag Police reported that the 17-year-old was a serial offender and as such was familiar with the local police. A homeless teen has escaped been crushed to death by garbage truck after she was found sleeping in the can in a bid to keep away from the cold. Council workers had come to do their garbage disposal rounds when one of the officials opened the 1100-litre dumpster and spotted the fur of the coat belonging to the young girl. The man alerted his colleagues and they had to rouse the girl before continuing with their operations. The girl was clearly disorientated when she was woken up, and the officials told her never to take shelter in such a place as it was dangerous.

The lightening appeared around sunset and started lighting up the evening sky. As it hit the street light, it exploded in a shock of lights. It was really an awesome sight that does not appear more than once in a lifetime. The odd motorist probably had access to a lot of disposable cups and then decided to put them to good use. He bought a lot of gel and proceeded to gum the plastic cups onto the car. A certain man has taken revenge to the extreme when he attempted to take his own life after he had an argument with his girlfriend. The Danish man, Arne Erhard Johansen took a 12 inches long kitchen knife and cut open his stomach such that his intestines gushed out. His live-in partner called the emergency services after Johansen locked himself in his bedroom with a knife after their row. His screams were what alerted her that he was in serious danger.
