In the case of history being made, the oldest man in the United States has finally decided to leave the world. The man, Richard Overton, died on Thursday, December 27 th at the age of 112. Overton was also America's oldest World War II veteran. Overton volunteered for the Army starting in 1942 and served with the 188th Aviation Engineer Battalion, an all-black unit that served on various islands in the Pacific. Overton would have been 113 on May 11, 2019 but the veteran came down with pneumonia and it was the reason for his demise.
For drastic change to happen anywhere, people must stand up to take a stand. One man who is in earnest desire to see a change come to the poor people of Tunisia, has taken a strange step to set the ball in motion. The man called Abdel Razaq Zorgi set himself ablaze to protest the harsh living conditions of the Tunisian populace. Before his death, the 32-year-old journalist had released a video the night before where he disclosed his intentions. He said, “For the sons of Kasserine who have no means of subsistence, today I start a revolution. I am going to set myself on fire.” The gruesome death of the journalist sparked protests in the city after dark and clashes overnight with police who fired tear gas at dozens of people who had set tyres ablaze and blocked the main street. Children are put into foster homes so they can have a new lease of life after they have escaped a previously abusive or neglected life. So, the case of minors being abused in foster homes is unacceptable talk more of by their adopted families. For abusing her adoptive son sexually, and on several occasions, a woman from Florida will be spending years in jail. The woman named Lauren Myres, a 26-year-old was sentenced jail on a one-count charge of sexual abuse on a minor. To complete her person term, she will have to undergo sex offender counseling, and she will be put on sex offender probation for four years. Myres will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life. The problem started in May 2018 when the law enforcement officials were given a tip-off by neighbors about an inappropriate relationship between Myres and her 17-year-old adopted son. Myres has worked as a caseworker for Families First Network, who originally had been assigned the victim
