Earthquake Hits On Boxing Day, Injures Over 10 People
While some people were busy
unboxing their Christmas parcels and having loads of fun, others were visited
by the ravages of nature to such extent that cost them their health and properties.
The sleeping town of Eastern
Sicily in Italy was jolted by an earthquake the magnitude of 4.8, and the quake injured
over 10 people, prompting frightened Italian villagers to flee their homes.
The quake hit home at 3:19
a.m. and it was said to have been part of a swarm of about 1,000 tremors that came off
an active volcano in Italy’s Mount Etna. The volcano was said to have erupted
earlier this week.
